People are drawn to Rollingwood for it’s community feel, great location and excellent schools. It is located about 10 minutes from downtown Austin, about 15 minutes to the airport and close to the highly acclaimed Eanes schools and lots of activities. It is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Austin. Rollingwood is just a short drive away from Lake Austin and the Barton Creek Greenbelt, providing residents with ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and picnicking.
 
It is just southwest of downtown and is bordered by Mopac, Lake Austin, Ridgewood and Bee Cave (show map). An easy walk or golf cart ride to Zilker.
 
A lot of people don’t know that is but Rollingwood is its own city within Westlake in Austin. They have their own mayor, city council, staff and police force which gives it the small town feel.
 
You will find tree lined streets with original homes built in the 60’s and 70’s as well as and new custom homes. There are new construction projects on just about every street.
 
There is a lot of community involvement with a women’s and men’s club, holiday events and parties and a fun run. There are a lot of opportunities to get to know your neighbors. The Rollingwood Community Park is a popular gathering spot. They have the Hatley baseball fields, playgrounds, a neighborhood garden and a pavilion. There is also a pool and tennis courts that are membership based and is very popular among people that live in Westlake.
